Looking at the these posts about China feels to me like rummaging through someone else's fuzzy memory. I selected most of these photos to show because they don't need specific stories of "then this kid did such-and-such and that's so-and-so's grandmother" attached to them. While we read every other day about how the country's developing quickly and its GDP is still growing at nearly 10% per year--ask any taxi driver in Beijing and they'll tell you all about it--while I had the Bessa in hand I wasn't much interested in the shiny new changes to the city around me either. I was basically drawn to movements and gestures that seemed timeless, mostly because, given another couple of months, I probably won't remember who these people are or where and why the picture was taken. I ought to keep a proper diary.

such an interesting story! what really amaze me, your photos speak for themselves, and even if you're not adding story, they still are strong and have a meaning:) i love the second one most, with kids, it's beautiful, and the cops - you planned it so well!

Great shots! I particularly love the traffic cops, the three cyclists, and the snacking kid. Very nice work.
