I haven't slept for three days and am slightly delirious right now but it doesn't even matter because right after I finished two research papers for history of architecture, I received my new 40D (and a Bessa which arrived a few days earlier)!
My little Rebel XT's been through 3 fashion weeks where dudes would shoot with two 1Ds simultaneously, but it's time I graduated to something a bit more serious. I'm really impressed with how the 40D handles low-light/high ISO. My only complaint really is the Bessa sounds so much louder and more mechanical than my old gx, but I'm starting to get used to it. They're just so lovely.
I wish I had photos to show, but won't until after finals. Well, here's a random snap from last week...
I'd like to end this post with a sample of what I'd been writing about for the past few days--insane things that architects say:
"No architecture has existed since 1700. A moronic cocktail of the most various stylistic elements that used to cover up the skeletons of modern houses is called modern architecture...Italy welcomes these prostitutions...that idiotic flowering of stupidity and importance that took the name of Neoclassicism." -Sant'Elia
Marinetti's entire manifesto.
"a dramatic rift between Mondrian and Van Doesburg over the latter's introduction of the diagonal into his paintings"
"And personality? The heart?? The soul??? Our plea is for absolute segregation." -Meyer
and my favorite:
"I would like to add that architecture and its details are connected in a way with biology. They are perhaps like large salmon or trout." -Aalto

have fun with that 120!
